Koriyama Castle Ruins

Tourist attractions

The restored main gate, corner turrets and the bridge to inner citadel are reminiscent of the past.
In the stone wall of the castle tower, there are diversion stones such as the upside-down Jizo and the foundation stone of Rajomon.
Prefectural cultural property. The castle ruins hall is an old prefectural library built in 1891. Relocated and preserved in 1970.
The castle tower observation facility is open to the public, and you can see the actual cornerstone of the castle tower that was excavated in the investigation of the stone wall repair and maintenance project up close.
Not only the castle town, but also Nara, Yakushiji, Mt. Wakakusa, and Mt. Miwa can be seen on a clear day.
In 2021, the Gokurakubashi, which is said to be the official gateway to the Honmaru, was rebuilt.
